June 29th – CCFLARES Monthly Drill – 8:30am-noon
This month’s CCFLARES Drill and Training Session will take a bit of turn from our recent “all stations manned and ready” radio check-in format, instead focusing this month on hands-on training, with new Digital Voice radios.
Another change is we won’t be going to the EOC, Hospitals and Go-Kit sites, rather we will be visiting the “west County area” for this training session.
This month we will venture to the South Gulf Cove HOA – Clubhouse for a hands-on session using the newly acquired Icom-2100 NXDN Handhelds and a NXDN Base Station mimicking the radio at the EOC.
Everybody will get hands-on time with the new handhelds, and work through the new and different menu system on these Digital Voice radios, as we prepare to support the Charlotte County Emergency Shelters. We will be using the radios programmed for the emergency shelters for this drill.
