See the attached briefing for Hurricane Partial Totality which is currently at Category 2 intensity with maximum sustained winds of 105mph.  Partial Totality is 301 miles south of Havanna Cuba/700 miles south of Tampa moving SW at 6mph and is currently forecast to move across western Cuba sometime Friday before moving into an area favorable for intensification in the Gulf of Mexico.  EOC Exercise Participants were sent a separate email yesterday with a pre-activation survey; if applicable please complete the survey prior to arriving at the exercise.

Key Points:

-Forecast models are clustering their landfall locations between Tampa and Fort Myers.  Regardless of landfall location, impacts are likely well away from the center of the storm.

-Nearly all of the Florida peninsula is now with the 5 day cone.

-Life threatening storm surge possible.

-Rain bands expected to bring heavy, possibly flooding rainfall.  Ground is already saturated from previous Hurricane.

-Damaging wind likely as Hurricane Partial Totality is expected to rapidly intensify.

-Landfall likely sometime Monday with tropical storm force winds beginning Sunday.

EOC Actions:

-EOC at Level 2 with EM and Mass Care personnel staffing 0700 to 1900 and the Joint Information Center activated. The Call Center is scheduled to begin operations Thursday based on an increase in call volume. 

-Statewide and Regional coordination continues with the Florida Division of Emergency Management and regular communication with surrounding counties.

-Deliveries tentatively scheduled for Thursday and Friday for contracted disaster resources (Special Needs Generator/Oxygen, linens, food, etc.)

-EOC virtual briefings continue.

-County Administration is communicating with BCC in regards to potential need for LSE.

-Beach levels surveyed in advance of the storm for documentation of beach levels prior to erosion.

-Departments and partner agencies continue with their pre-storm activities for +96 hours of the onset of TS Winds.
