Operation: “CCFLARES Monthly Exercise”
Date: Thursday May 26, 2022 (updated 5-24-22)

Time: 0900-1100 EST (Please remember to ask N4CCF to secure)
Scope: All Charlotte County Sites
Exercise Objective:
The objective is for each site to provide a list of communication
assets they can reliably send traffic either voice or data or both. This
will provide the EOC (N4CCF) with the capabilities and/or limitations
of each site as tasks arise in a real emergency. We are asking each
site submit status via Winlink “Winlink Check-In Form” and/or Voice.
Incorporate the Go-Boxes into the same cadence as the potential
shelter sites. The Please document all activity for your site on an ICS
214 form to be submitted at the end of the exercise by each site &
individual at home locations.

    Winlink checkin form (hint: last two are in general forms)
    Radio Communications Network Assets:

    Please plan to be at your site by 0830 to provide time to access and
    prepare the site.
    During this exercise, the Charlotte County EOC (N4CCF) will be
    directing nets starting at 0900 on the WX4E linked repeater system
    on 444.975 (CH#1). Refer to ICS 205 attached.

  • 0830 to 0900 – Site Access / Setup / Comm Scan
  • 0900 to 0930 – Begin Roll Call on Primary EOC Coordination
    Channel (CH#1)
  • 0930 to 1030 – Report Comm Scan via Winlink and/or Voice on
    Assigned TAC Channel
  • 1030 to 1050 – Report Issues on Assigned TAC Channel
  • 1050 to 1100 – Ask Net Control for release on Coordination EOC
    Channel #1
  • Winlink stations complete and send a ICS 213, 214 & Field
    Situation Report via your radio to W8JJV; N4CCF;KG9B before
    you secure.
    During initial roll call please check in with the following information:
  • Name (First Name Only)
  • Amateur Call
  • Location Tactical Name or (Nearest Cross streets)
  • Status: Deployable or Standby (Monitor Only)
  • If you have Winlink capability, please use the “Winlink Check In”
    form and please update your status of both your Voice and
    Digital capabilities
  • Please inform Net Control if you have any guests at your site
    Here are a few guidelines:
  1. Be precise in your communication. This is not a contest. This is
    an exercise. Use good radio communication techniques such as
    phonetics. Always ask for a repeat if information is not clear or
    transcribed properly and / or repeat the information to the
    requestor for confirmation.
  2. Stay calm – This is not a race. We are adapting to the requests.
    In a real disaster, the requests are out of the norm.
  3. EOC Coordination channel is a directed net – always ask for net
    control give your call and wait for a reply
  4. Please use Channel Names for reference from ICS 205 to
    document your results.
  5. Ask your leader for advice and discuss the situation if not sure.
